Urgent Need for Patient Volunteers!

ASHEBORO — Officials at Hospice of Randolph County say the organization urgently needs patient volunteers.

Volunteers who work with patients and families play a key role in the hospice experience, said Kathy Wright, HRC’s volunteer coordinator.

“Our volunteers provide companionship, emotional support and an extra hand to the patients and families we serve at Hospice of Randolph County. The love and care they give to these patients and families is indispensable,” she said.

Volunteer opportunities also exist for those interested in helping with special events or office work.

Those interested in volunteering are required to attend a special training series to learn more about the organization and their role.

The next volunteer training series will be held on Tuesday, July 13, and Thursday, July 15, from 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

Lunch for both days as well as materials will be provided free of charge. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to work with patients. Volunteers can give as many or as few hours per month as their schedules allow.

Pre-registration is required for the training.

Register by the end of the day on Monday, July 12. Contact Kathy Wright at (336) 672-9300 or by email at kathy.wright@hospiceofrandolph.org to register.
